Well I opted out of the trip to Anaheim. Would have missed two huge conference games, along with the state senior games.
Also the cost was a bit more than I expected but that wasn't the main issue.
Hopefully I'll have my hitting rhythm back. I hit terrible again, 0-3, but it was sort of a progression. Jammed foul out, Sweet spotted pop up, and a deep fly ball. I've found a happy medium of movement pre-swing. I just need to load earlier. I lost my early load from all the t work I have been doing i think.
Had a talk with my coach after the game, because I stuck around to swing a bit, and he ended up throwing to me and giving me a little help.
He called me out for letting negatives snow ball, and he's correct, so I'll definitely remember that. Although it was a bit frustrating, because I pace the mound when I get behind in the count to reset and stop thinking, and he interpreted it as an angry whiny gesture. I didn't respond with my real reasoning in the moment, but I'll have to talk to him, because the pacing helped me a lot in the fall.
We play Wednesday and Thursday, I'm pretty stoked really. Gotta reset every at bat, don't be late, pick my zone, and let it rip with everything I"ve got.
Our pitching coach told me to just let it rip and what happens happens. For me, that's probably the best way to go about it, I've practiced so much, it'll come together so long as my brain doesn't block otu the success.
I've asked a couple teammates to help keep me mentally loose, jokes, that sorta thing. Hopefully that helps as well.
I've come down with something awful. Feeling really congested, tired, achy, and a bad migrane. Today we had a senior breakfast and job fair for two hours. I left after 45 mintues and went back to first period. Since only a couple people were still in the class they were playing games. I provided to fall asleep on the floor against the wall. The nap was only temporary relief sadly. Proceeded to feel miserable all day. Dry heaved a few times at practice. Sucked.
I'm going to bed insanely early again and I hope that will make it better.
I've decided to go to bed early and get up early in the future. I accomplish two to three times as much stuff from 6am to 7am than I do from like 7pm to 10pm.
Also, the sleep is apparently more valuable before midnight just due to the rhythm of the world, according to some strength coaches so we shall see.
