i could say i throw a fastball with a knuckleball grip, this doesn't mean i'm throwing a fastball, it means i believe a fastball is gripped this way.
basically this pitch changed during the years, what you see now like trevor hoffman or keith foulke are changeups backedup in the palm. the real old school palmball was a complete different pitch |

At least he's a better resource than a video game right? When will you get over this two-seam VS sinker nonsense? There are pitchers who throw sinkers with their own unique grip and those who use a plain two-seam grip. It doesn't make a difference what grip you use, it's how you release the ball. |

you dont get it
he is saying he throws two different pitches
he throws both the two seam fastball and a sinker
you are making him sound dumb
he throws the same pitch with different grips
why not stick with one?
they are different pitches

I know what he wrote. I was not referring to him. I was referring to you still insisting that the sinker and two-seam are two different pitches. This is not the case for every pitcher. Hoysauce throws both, so does that mean it's two different pitches? You have one pitcher who posts that he throws both and it validates your belief that they are two different pitches and a sinker can't be thrown with a two-seam grip?
I am simply telling you that some throw a sinker with a unique grip, some throw a sinker with a two-seam grip, some throw a two-seam that doesn't move much, some throw a two-seam and call it a sinker, some throw a sinker and call it a two-seam. There is no absolute. |

well i knew that
i was trying to make the point that a two seam fastball and a sinker are two different pitches
some people throw a screwball with the twoseam grip
two different pitches
people say their sinker is a two seam be cause of the way they grip it
(they need to listen to brandon webb)
josh beckett throws a two seam
webb throws a sinker
two seam is goes inside (horizontal)
sinker goes down and inside
am i right or wrong _________________ $KELVO$

You are wrong if you are stating your generalization as an absolute.
You keep saying that a two-seam and sinker are two different pitches. How can this be an absolute when two of the best sinkerballers (Fausto Carmona, Chien Ming-Wang) just use a plain, ordinary two-seam grip? |
